A
New Opportunity for us all!"
CHURCH IN ANOTHER LOCAL COMMUNITY PROJECT
Church Work in the Old Mission Hall on Mitchley Road stopped years ago. Now we have the opportunity to start church and community work there once again.
•The Chapel of the Good Shepherd
• Community meeting spaces for community and voluntary organisations and local people - two halls for 100/150 people; meeting rooms; kitchen and toilets
• A community worker might be employed to work from the building
The parish has the experience of the Kemble Hall on Kemble Road which was completely rebuilt following a partnership with a Housing Association. The new Kemble Hall was opened by the Princess Royal in 2004. It now provides church and community meeting space to many local organisations and groups.
Fr. Luke Miller, the Vicar of S. Mary’s said: “From being an underused and dilapidated eyesore the Kemble Hall has become a hub of the community. More than 100 people a week from the very young to the very old use the building just in church groups and dozens more come to the building for other activities. We hope to make the same transformation in Mitchley Road.”
The former chapel of the Good Shepherd will be reopened

It will provide meeting spaces for community and voluntary organisations and local
people
