Maundy Thursday 1st April

People keep watch in silent prayer
before the Blessed Sacrament until midnight.

8pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper. On the night before He died, Jesus had supper with His disciples, washes their feet and gives them a new commandment. We follow His commandment to take bread and wine in memory of Him. After Mass, we pray and the Chancel will have become like the Garden of Gethsemane. Here we pray silently, coming and going as need be, in the presence of Sacrament of Christ’s Body and Blood. Compline at 11.45pm.

Good Friday 2nd

On this day, we gather to thank Jesus for dying for us. He was innocent, we the guilty, yet He suffered for us. The Solemn Liturgy is how we worship God on this day and it is done three times so we can each attend it once in a socially distanced context.

6pm Solemn Liturgy at Good Shepherd

Holy Saturday 3rd

8pm Solemn Mass of the Easter Vigil. We begin outside St Mary’s lighting the Easter fire, from which the Easter Candle is lit. This is processed into a dark church as the Resurrection of Christ is proclaimed.

Easter Sunday 4th

There are four Masses today so we can celebrate with joy the Resurrection of Jesus and the new life offered to everyone. (The photograph below is from pre-social distancing times, of course. We’ll keep 2 metres distance at the Masses.)

Weekday Mass Times during Lockdown in 2021

St Mary’s 9.30am on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 7.30pm on Tuesday.

Good Shepherd Tuesdays at 12.15pm

You also can say your prayers, light candles and look around our churches at this time.

We’re two lively churches welcoming all to come and worship Christ as revealed in the Scriptures and proclaimed in the Church. We have a lot of laughter too as we seek to be more faithful and to usher in God’s Kingdom throughout Tottenham.

St. Mary’s Church

Sunday Mass at 10am is lively affair; with quieter opportunities for prayer during the week.

The Good Shepherd

A smaller congregation that gathers for Mass at 5pm, seeking to remind the backstreets where we find ourselves that God loves them lots.
