Temporarily Closed Doors

Sunday 22nd March 2020, Lent IV

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I’m very sad to have to close the doors of our churches for public worship so that you can’t even to come to pray by yourself. It is however clearly the right thing so that people are discouraged from traveling and to ensure our nation’s health and wellbeing.

Keep on saying your prayers each day, praying for those affected by the corona virus, NHS workers and for all those in our Church family.

Watch out for your neighbours and your brother and sister Christians. I have said many times over the last few years that you should share contact details with each other and it’s for times such as these that we do this.

Mass, Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer will be said privately by the clergy of the Parish every day in St Mary’s and we will try to put this up on the internet so people can watch. See your Facebook pages and this vimeo page. There are other options of Masses to watch around the UK, see www.churchservices.tv The Shrine at Lourdes does this too at www.lourdes-france.org

Make sure I have your email so you receive the updates. If you don’t have an email address, maybe let me know of a loved one who will receive them and update you. If you do have an email address, do consider communicating what I send you to those who do not have an email address.

Do be in touch if you want a chat, are ill or in need of any support. Our telephone number is 020 8808 6644 and my email is fr.morris@hotmail.com.

I look forward to us all worshipping Almighty God together once again. The situation will change over the coming weeks so do look on our website and Facebook pages for updates.

With my love and prayers,

Fr Morris
